In February 2001, after more than twenty-six years in the hospitality and travel industry, Neil Cramer understood that many independent luxury hotels and resorts could not afford to have a full-time presence in northern California. Neil contacted many of the most prestigious properties that he had partnered with during his career, and they agreed on the need to work together to make it easy for meeting planners to learn about and book their hotels.
The concept of providing meeting planners with easy access to information, availability, rates, proposals and site inspections has proven so successful, that the number of participating hotels has increased to 500+ of the best hotels in the world, and The Cramer Collection’s sales force has expanded to service planners throughout the United States and Canada.
Neil also realized that his meeting planner customers would be better served by expanding the range of products and service offered by The Cramer Collection. Looking for partners with the same customer-oriented philosophy, Neil formed alliances with several prestigious and like-minded representation firms throughout the United States including Texas-based International Group Sales representing luxury properties throughout Mexico and the Caribbean.
Other partners represented by The Cramer Collection include Historic Hotels of America, Historic Hotels of Mexico, Orient-Express Hotels, Auberge Resorts, Morgans Hotel Group, Steigenberger Hotels, The Dorchester Collection, and Dolce Hotels, to name a few. The portfolio keeps growing in order to make it even easier for planners to get what they need quickly, efficiently, and…without charge. Yes, that’s right. Because we are compensated by our members, our services are complimentary to meeting planners.
The Cramer Collection also has relationships with more than 30 of the top Destination Management Companies (DMC’s) as well as Convention Bureaus and Destination Consortium from around the world. With this capability, planners can receive full proposals for just about anywhere simply by contacting their local Cramer Collection representative.
